Description

Venture away from the city and into the beautiful landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains as you embark on a day trip from Marrakesh. Join a small group and visit several valleys and Berber villages throughout the day to learn more about the local lifestyle. Walk through valleys, take in the surrounding mountains, and visit a local home all in one day. Start your day with a convenient hotel pickup and head to the High Atlas Mountains. Stop at the village of Moulay Brahim and the Kik Plateau to take in the stunning views of the mountains. Continue to the Asni Valley, where a weekly market takes place every Saturday. Arrive in Imlil, set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, a main trailhead for trekking tours to Mt Toubkal and to other valleys. Leave your vehicle to take a welcome glass of mint tea in the village and meet your local guide. Embark on a hike towards the south to the Berber village of Aroumd, passing the hamlets of Ait Souka and Targa Imoula. Admire the stark slopes and the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif. Continue until you reach a guesthouse in Aroumd village for lunch. After lunch, set off back down the other side of the valley back to Imlil and return to Marrakech.
