Description
Embark on a 3-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, the Todra Gorges, and the Dades Gorges. Ride a camel through the golden dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert and watch the sunset. Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou kasbah - Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Dades Gorges Start your trip to the Desert with a pick-up from your hotel in Marrakech. Drive along the passes through valleys and Deserts while enjoying views from the Atlas Mountains. Pass through the Tizi n’Tichka, a pass at an altitude of 2,260m, the highest pass in North Africa and it has become famous for its breathtaking views over the other parts of the Atlas Mountains. Halfway along the trip to the Desert, visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou with a local guide. Get to know this town which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then stop for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the kasbah (cost not included). Continue your desert trip towards Ouarzazate, known as the gate of the Desert. Stop at the cinema studios for a short visit (optional), and then drive toward the heart of the city Ouarzazate to discover another hidden gem, the Kasbah Taourirte, another UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Moroccan Desert. Later, make to the final destination of the day: the Dades Gorges. On the road to, stop at the Rose Valley for a short visit to a local cooperative producing rose water and its products in the Desert. After a short drive, arrive at the Dades Gorges, where you will spend the night in a local hotel or Riad, and enjoy the night vibes there. Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Desert -Camel Ride After breakfast at your hotel, head towards the Todra Gorges, a favorite destination for rock climbers. After a visit to the gorges and the palm oasis of Todra, follow the ancient caravan trade routes to the Sahara, passing through a series of fortified Villages with pre-Saharan architecture. Arrive in Erfoud, a dry, city built of the Desert by the French as a central administration city. It is known for its rich black marble fossils. After Erfoud, head to the Dunes of the Merzouga Desert. Upon arrival, be welcomed with mint tea in the Desert at a Berber camp. Then experience a camel ride through the golden Dunes of the Erg Chebbi Desert, followed by watching the sunset. After dinner, gather around the fire and enjoy the desert night, sometimes accompanied by traditional Berber drums. Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Atlass mountains - Fes Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise from the Great Dune of the Sahara Desert. Return to camp to have breakfast, then Ride Dromedaries, the tallest of the three camel species, or travel by 4WD to meet your driver to start the journey from the Desert to Fes. Passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch in Midelt, Continue through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary apes.
