Description

Discover the beauty of the Merzouga Desert on a guided 2-day excursion from Fes. Visit the charming mountain villages of Ifrane and Midelt, enjoy a tasty dinner at a nomad camp, listen to traditional Berber music, sleep in a tent under the stars, and witness the sunrise on the Erb Chebbi dunes. Start with pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. Meet your driver and board the car/bus to set off on your journey to the Merzouga Desert through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Make the first stop on the journey in the town of Ifrane known as the Switzerland of Moroccoand a popular ski resort. Make another stop in the heart of a vast cedar forest, where you can meet and feed the local population of Barbary monkeys. After that, enjoy a short stop in the town of Midelt where you can get your lunch . Travel through the verdant Ziz Valley, before making a final stop in the charming town of Erfoud possible to purchase local dates . Upon arrival at Merzouga, the camels will be waiting for you to take you across the dunes. Try your hand at sandboarding, and witness a beautiful sunset as you make your way to the nomad camp. Get settled in for the night and enjoy a tasty dinner of traditional cuisine. Relax under the starry sky and gather around the roaring campfire for a traditional show of Berber music. After enjoying the serenity of the desert for a bit, retire to your luxury/ standard tent. Rise early the next morning for a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Tuck into a delicious breakfast to start your day, before boarding the bus for your return journey to Fes, with a few stops along the way back, before being dropped off in the city center.
